Assistant Professor - Term Aviation Maintenance Faculty Position
The UAA, Aviation Maintenance Technology program is seeking a highly qualified, innovative candidate with a strong team work ethic to fill a Term Assistant Professor position beginning in the 2015-2016 academic year. Responsibilities include teaching 24-27 credit hours (including labs) of undergraduate courses during the academic year in compliance with FAA approved FAR Part 147 curriculum and UAA Course Content Guides; conducting UAA, college and program service; providing academic and career advising for AMT students: developing, designing and instructing laboratory projects, as well as performing other instructional and program responsibilities as part of the team.
The UAA AMT program has always been a leader in quality maintenance education. Recent equipment improvements have enhanced that quality to position the program for the next decade and beyond. New acquisitions include a Boeing 727, multiengine turboprop aircraft, nondestructive inspection equipment, electronic test equipment, replacement carburetors and magnetos, ground handling equipment, turbine and reciprocating engine run stands. Combined with multimedia classrooms and electronic documentation capability, the AMT program is preparing its students for the future of aviation maintenance.
