The City of Pueblo Colorado offers an exceptional opportunity for a professional executive a leader who is ready to embrace the challenges and rewards of the position of Director of Aviation. Under the general administrative direction of the City Manager or Deputy City Manager this appointive position is responsible for the development operation and maintenance of the municipal airport. The individual in this position demonstrates strong leadership skills while working with the public and City staff; develops and administers departmental strategic plans; exercises strong customer-relations skills in public private contractor interactions; develops and manages by effective metrics not limited to cost benefit analysis ROI customer feedback user skill enhancement workforce planning and engagement etc.; and utilizes “state-of-the-art” and best practices in developing policies and procedures and in the utilization of City staff equipment and capital spending. The individual must meet all of the following Bachelor&39;s degree in Airport Management Business Administration Civil Engineering Public Administration or a closely related field from an accredited college or university; At least four 4 years of highly responsible experience in airport operation two 2 years of which shall be in a management capacity; and A valid driver’s license by date of application and a valid Colorado driver’s license within 60 days of appointment.
