ApplyPOSITION AVIONICS TECHNICIAN Grant currently has several openings for Avionics Technicians who will report to the Director of Maintenance. GRANT OVERVIEW Grant Aviation is an Alaska-owned Regional Air Carrier operating under FAA Part 135 serving rural Alaska since 1971. Grant currently operates 26 aircraft maintaining bases of operations in Bethel Emmonak Dillingham King Salmon Cold Bay Dutch Harbor Kenai and Anchorage Alaska. Grant provides scheduled air transport of passengers cargo and mail as well as providing air ambulance and aircraft charter service on demand. Grant employs approximately 200 individuals with the majority residing in our market hubs or the surrounding village communities. In the past decade ridership has grown from 40 000 to 130 000+ passengers annually. Transport of U.S. Mail has increased from 3 million to over 8 million pounds transported annually during the same period. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Hold a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license. &61623; Hold valid FCC license. &61623; Experience with any or all of the following C207 C208 PA31-350 and B200 &61623; Valid driver’s license. &61623; Must submit to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing. &61623; Able to lift 70 pounds. &61623; Possess effective communication skills both verbal and written. &61623; Be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office and able to learn and master new computerized maintenance programs. &61623; Possess adequate general hand tools to properly perform duties in accordance with FAR 43.13 appendix D. &61623; Be available for shift work to include nights and weekends. &61623; FAA Inspection Authorization a plus. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS Maintain a good work ethic to include being reliable and punctual in reporting for scheduled work. &61623; Work closely with the Maintenance Control Department to ensure aircraft availability to meet the needs of the Operations Department. &61623; Responsible to ensure that mechanical delays that may occur are handled in a safe and expeditious manner in accordance Grant Aviation’s policies. &61623; Reports all inoperative or faulty equipment to the Maintenance Control Department &61623; Completes all paperwork for maintenance that is performed. &61623; Approve aircraft for return to service after schedule or unscheduled maintenance. &61623; Work as directed by the lead mechanics at each maintenance base in the planning executing and tracking of scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance workload. &61623; Be thoroughly familiar with all necessary Avionics test equipment test procedures manufacturer’s maintenance manuals other pertinent technical data and procedures before commencing any assigned task. &61623; Troubleshoot repair modify and calibrate aircraft electronic systems and components. &61623; Certifies integrated avionic systems and components utilizing shop avionics support equipment and specialized precision measuring equipment. &61623; Analyses malfunctions and calibrates and performs maintenance on avionics support equipment using calibration standards. &61623; Installs aligns and wires electrical and electronic components such as sensors radio communications antennas and lights. &61623; Performs continuity checks and functional checkouts of complete aircraft systems. &61623; Responsible for ensuring any “on the job training” OJT is provided to their assigned lead technician for proper documentation and routing to quality assurance. &61623; Route wiring and determine the best location and method for installing and removing electronic equipment and systems by applying general trade practices and adhering to prints originated by Electrical Engineering Electronics Engineering various modifications centers and aircraft manufacturers wiring diagrams. &61623; Fabricates wiring harnesses solders connector plugs strips and hand lugs wiring. &61623; Demonstrate familiarization with the principle elements of assigned duties. &61623; Ensures that hangar workshops and other areas assigned are maintained in an orderly manner. &61623; Other duties as assigned by the Lead Mechanic or Maintenance Controller. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION All candidates must be willing to work in the Alaska Bush year-round on a flexible schedule.
