This position reports directly to the Director of Maintenance DOM or his designee. The maintenance technician will service repair troubleshoot and overhaul aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness. This includes repair replace and rebuild of aircraft structures systems and functional components The maintenance technician will assemble and install electrical plumbing mechanical hydraulic structural components and accessories using hand tools and power tools. Additionally the maintenance technician will adjust align and calibrate aircraft systems using hand tools gauges and test equipment machines and equipment such as shears sheet metal brakes welding equipment rivet gun and drills. The maintenance technician will also research and understand FAA technical data relevant to assigned tasks. Responsibilities and Duties Responsible for maintaining QSI owned leased and operated aircraft. Maintain QSI aircraft in airworthy condition. Perform all work in accordance with approved FAA data. Work with the pilots to create and maintain the highest level of safety. Work with the Director of Maintenance to track and schedule maintenance on Quantum Spatial’s aircraft. Review and update tracking software as necessary Oversee vendor compliance during outsourced inspections. Coordinate scheduled unscheduled maintenance away from base. Maintain up to date aircraft records logbooks AD’s inspection reports and e-records . Manage a spare parts inventory. Assist in the installation and removal of sensor equipment. Assist in maintaining avionics downloads for charts services. Assist in moving the aircraft in and out of hangar. Assist with the fueling operations of aircraft with the line technicians and pilots. Maintain all ground support equipment. Understand and comply with ethical legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. Participates in continuing education to maintain licensing requirements. Assist other Flight Department personnel with maintaining and cleaning Quantum Spatial’s aviation facility to include the hangar offices and grounds. Additional Responsibilities Travel required may travel up to 30% of time. On-call and overtime duties as required. Miscellaneous others duties as assigned. Mandatory Qualifications High School diploma or the equivalent. Airframe & Powerplant license with Inspection Authorization. Preferred Qualifications Aero Commander experience. King Air experience. Formal manufacture training. Associate or Bachelor degree. Specific Job Related Skills and Requirements Work with accuracy clarity and with an eye for detail. Excellent mechanical and Avionics troubleshooting skills. Computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications. Ability to work under pressure and be adaptable to change on a consistent basis. Regular and prompt attendance. Physical Requirements Drive aircraft tug and other ground service equipment. Withstand seasonal flight operations including exposure to the cold and heat. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Ability to remove snow and cut grass.
