ApplyPOSITION & RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION Function The Outside Sales Representative describes and demonstrates products and determines needs of new and current customers within an assigned territory through face-to-face contact. typically requires a high level of travel and assists management in devising sales plans and strategies. Sales Representatives may also promote products at trade shows and conferences. Sales Representatives are an important part of AERO’s success. Regardless of the product sold the primary duties are to interest buyers and purchasing agents in our merchandise and to address our customer’s questions and concerns. Essential Functions and Accountabilities Visit new and existing customers in assigned territories. Prepare effective sales reports to be funneled through Branch Sales Manager. Follow leads prospect from other customers. Obtain new accounts. Submit expense reports to Branch Sales Manager Study literature about new and existing products. Monitor the sales prices and products of AERO’s competitors. Participate in trade shows and conferences. Exceed goals of outside sales forecast. Operate within expense budget guidelines and policies. In conjunction with Branch Sales Manager coordinate follow-up sales calls. Because of the fluctuating demands of AERO’s operation it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore as an essential part of your position you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed. Comply with company policies and procedures. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Important attributes of Sales Representatives include but are not limited to a pleasing personality an abundance of energy goal oriented persuasive a sense of responsibility self-reliance team player and -- of paramount importance -- sales ability. A technical background in order to deal with aircraft mechanics in selling products is required. Outside Sales Representatives will have an assigned territory and their responsibilities include scheduling appointments calling on customers and preparing reports on sales prospects. They may also conduct training for customers and develop advertising and promotional packages for new products. Equipment and Applications Personal computer and various software applications. Work Environment and Physical Demands This particular position may involve a considerable amount of travel and depending on the assigned territory there may be long periods spent out of town or there may be only a few days each month that would require extensive travel. The time most convenient for the customer may involve evening appointments and or travel on weekends. Sales Representatives often are on their feet for long periods of time and may have to carry heavy sample products which necessitates some physical stamina.
