Summary The mission of the Financial Analyst is to provide management with the necessary financial information to plan operate and control the overall mission of the business. He she is specifically responsible for planning budgeting and forecasting key measurable financial data while giving insight and recommendations to management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare monthly cash forecasts to identity potential shortfalls. Manage current seven-year financial model and help facilitate migration of said model from excel to an advanced software solution. Work with IT to develop reports for ad-hoc requests as they arise. Review and perform financial analysis as necessary for all new and renewal contracts ensuring profit margins for each line of business meet or exceed senior management expectations. Work in tandem with Research & Development Department to analyze and assist pricing new opportunities and lines of business. Work with Pricing Department to develop and maintain standard costs for use in automated maintenance forecast models. Review large purchases of inventory. Administer departmental financial metrics and work with department leaders to help them understand and control expenditures. Capture and disseminate Key Performance Indicators KPIs to management team. Preparation of annual budget. Perform monthly financial statement analysis including calculating static and flexible budget variances and sales-volume variances. Prepare periodic variance analysis of forecasted budgeted maintenance events vs. actual maintenance events. Review system generated exception report produced in conjunction with automated forecast. Develop and leverage skills in various business intelligence solutions to maximize accuracy and efficiency of above responsibilities. Additional Responsibilities Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Desired Credentials Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field from an accredited school Three to five years’ experience in accounting financial analysis roles showing progressive levels of responsibility and skill improvement Private Equity background a strong plus Strong financial analysis skills Understanding of accrual accounting Budgeting and forecasting experience Excellent communication skills Excellent Excel skills Knowledge of GP and Management Reporter software a plus Knowledge of aviation and or insurance industries is a strong plus. Knowledge of captive selective coverage for unscheduled aircraft airframe or engine maintenance events preferred.
