ApplyThe primary function of the Aircraft Operations Specialist is to support the maintenance repair and the return to service of the Aircell Broadband System ABS on board customer aircraft. The individual will ensure that all work performed is accomplished in accordance with all company airline partner and FAA regulations. This individual will be knowledgeable in all facets of aircraft maintenance including electrical and avionics equipment installations. They will be expected to work on assignments that are complex in nature and require considerable judgment initiative and technical specialized knowledge to resolve problems and or develop recommended solutions as well as interface with the airline partners and contract maintenance personnel as required by the Aircraft Maintenance Manager. Key Duties & Responsibilities •Responsible for continuous monitoring of the maintenance status of aircraft IFE IFC systems in line operations by close communication with Line Maintenance personnel Maintenance Vendors Airline Operations Aircraft Engineering and other stakeholders to ensure all systems operational. •Manages system out of service activities •Ensures proper use and interpretation of company policy and other related company procedures •Ensure that all the required maintenance and preventative maintenance is being performed in accordance with all company airline partner and FAA regulations to ensure system integrity. Manages and controls the deferred maintenance process which includes •Coordinates and schedules ground time manpower and parts at Line Stations to correct maintenance discrepancies •Provides technical expertise to assist in troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of aircraft systems •Coordinates “on call” maintenance at all stations •Performs remote troubleshooting utilizing SSH clients on installed Gogo systems •Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager Maintenance Control Qualifications •Valid Federal Aviation Administration FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required •Minimum of 5 years Boeing and Airbus Series aircraft experience required •Strong analytical interpersonal verbal and written communication skills required •Must be able to read write fluently speak and understand the English language •Able to work rotating schedules to include weekends nights and holidays as required •FCC Radio telephone operators’ license preferred •Previous Maintenance Control experience preferred •Bachelor Degree in Aviation Related Field preferred •Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations FAR governing aircraft maintenance preferred •5 years Avionics Technician experience preferred •Ability to work in fast pace environment •Strong work ethic and organizational skills •Working knowledge of Linux Operating Systems and Microsoft Office software •Experience with Online Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and Parts Catalogs Please reference Avjobs when applying for this position.
