Mission Statement The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the Financial Planning & Analysis department at JSSI. This group provides management and the operating departments of JSSI with insightful economic evaluations and meaningful information necessary to plan operate and control the business. This position focuses on analysis for this data driven quality service oriented company serving the aviation industry primarily dealing with business jets. This business combines aspects of insurance and finance with aircraft and engine maintenance and requires in-depth analysis to support complex financial decisions and forecasts. Responsibilities Perform analysis of both strategic and tactical business and operational questions while demonstrating creative analytical curiosity. Analyze data associated with highly complex business and operational opportunities. Consultatively collaborate with operating departments to analytically explore business and operational problems develop reports track and understand operational issues. Review and perform financial analysis as necessary for all new and renewal contracts ensuring profit margins for each line of business meet or exceed senior management expectations. Work together with Pricing and New Products teams to analyze and assist in pricing of new opportunities and lines of business. Develop financial assumptions and construct complex financial models for forecasting budgeting and business case analyses. Manage and further develop seven-year financial planning model. Evaluate acquisitions of aircraft and parts inventories to support business. Prepare periodic variance analyses of forecasted budgeted maintenance events versus actual maintenance events. Identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly. Collaborate with mentor develop and support other analysts. Desired Credentials Educational Background & Work Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or Business Administration. 2-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in a financial analysis role. Preferred MBA or Masters in Business Finance Economics Quantitative Analysis Accounting Finance Analytics Operations Research Applied Math Economics Statistics or other quantitative field or similar discipline preferred. Work Experience 4-5 years. Communication Work & Team Skills Excellent interpersonal written and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with teammates all levels of employees and management. Self-motivated with advanced critical thinking skills and ability to understand and master new concepts quickly. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting timelines on short notice under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude. Excellent customer service focus. Pride in quality work with attention to detail and consistent high degree of accuracy. Functional & Analytical Knowledge Required Excellent analytical skills with an understanding of discounted cash flow analysis net present value and forecasting techniques. Ability to assimilate and logically structure analysis of complex issues and develop creative problem solving for business financial and operational challenges. Experience with financial modeling and analysis of large amounts of data. Solid understanding of financial statements. Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint Word Outlook and Excel. Preferred Experience with report writing software. Interest and familiarity with aviation preferred. Knowledge of GP and Management Reporter software. Prior experience analyzing complex contracts.
