ApplyThe Avionics Supervisor provides exceptional customer service to all customers suppliers and employees while observing and practicing all safety policies and procedures. Qualified candidates will perform and supervise the troubleshooting repair and installation of modern aircraft electronic systems to include but not limited to aircraft radios radar navigation gyros remote compass guidance systems and flight entertainment systems in accordance with regulatory customer and company requirements. Interprets prints and schematics of avionics systems to modify or troubleshoot electronic systems. Conduct pre-flight checks of avionics equipment and may be required to assist the flight crew in airborne checks. Perform light sheet metal layout and fabrication instrument panels antenna doublers etc . The Avionics Supervisor will assist the parts supervisor in managing the stock of supplies and will also work directly with the Chief Inspector on regulatory requirements to maintain the Radio ratings held. In addition the Avionics Supervisor will reconcile engineering drawings and system schematics to ensure proper repair and document appropriate paperwork upon approval for aircraft to return to service. The Avionics Supervisors will work directly with the DOM to review work orders for proper completion and ensure that they reflect the correct amount of time charged for service as well as working to acquire new customers and grow the business by gaining trust and confidence of potential customers when discussing technical repairs improvements to aircraft.Measures calculates and determines wire lengths and requirements; verify and reconcile with engineering drawings. Interprets prints and schematics of avionics systems to modify or troubleshoot electronic systems. Tests and troubleshoots aircraft radios radar navigation gyros remote compass guidance systems and flight entertainment systems. Repairs modifies and or builds new equipment and systems in conformance with company customer FCC and other regulatory specifications. Conducts pre-flight check of avionics equipment and may be required to assist the flight crew in airborne checks. Perform light sheet metal layout and fabrication instrument panels antenna doublers etc Complies with all safety environmental and general housekeeping policies. Completes all required repair station paperwork to approve aircraft for return to service. May perform other duties as required by the Department. Qualifications Possess and maintain valid FCC Repairman Certificate Minimum of five years previous experience in general aviation industry High School diploma or equivalent Associate Degree in electronics related field or equivalent experience Minimum of 18 years of age Must maintain a valid state driver’s license. May be required to maintain a valid state commercial driver’s license CDL and certification requirements for operating equipment as necessary Possess strong communication skills both verbal and written Possess excellent customer relation skills Proficient in computer operations and Microsoft Office Software Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint and Access Possess strong problem solving and analytical skills Advanced working knowledge of applicable FCC FAA OSHA and environmental regulations Physical requirements Ability to perform maintenance operations outside and in extreme temperatures and inclement weather Excellent vision coordination and hearing required to detect problems and conduct inspections Physically able to perform frequent walking stretching bending sitting stooping reaching grasping and climbing actions Requires dexterity to manipulate hand and power tools Physically able to perform heavy lifting on a regular basis up to 50 pounds May be required to work nights and weekends to handle contingencies and emergencies Equal Opportunity Employer M F Disability Vet.
