Airline Information Representative Jobs

Also known as special assistant coordinators, airport informational representatives are hired through the airport. The main responsibility of these representatives is to assist passengers in the terminal with general questions regarding direction, terminal services, or wheelchair access. Representatives often handle customer complaints and as a result are among the more visible airport employees. Some employees function as translators and specialize in working with foreign travelers. There are similar positions, generally known as ground attendants, that are employed through the airlines.

Airline Information Representative Qualifications

Most representatives are entry-level and are required to have a high school diploma, good customer service skills, and a professional attitude and look. Those who will be translating need to know at least two foreign languages. Average starting salary: $8 to $11 per hour.

Established Values System
Successful applicants must be primarily self-motivated and have the ability to work unsupervised. Self-satisfaction must be found by treating others well, since feedback will come more often from customers than from supervisory personnel. This will allow you to maintain high standards even under pressure from peers to relax those standards. You must be self-confident and take responsibility for your actions, preferring to earn rewards rather than expecting entitlements.
