We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineer in our Mechanical Engineering Department. With limited management consultation this position serving as a recognized authority conceptualizes and articulates innovative resolutions to highly technical and complex engineering problems. Functioning in a leadership role directs the planning and oversight projects. Represents the group and company through technical presentations and documents. Specialized engineering knowledge leadership and project management and is a presence in attracting and retaining engineering business and professional staff.Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Support design testing manufacturing and fielding of powerplant propeller fuel system oil system and related aircraft components
+ Conceptualizes and articulates innovative resolutions to highly technical and complex engineering problems
+ Mentors professional and support staff in technical and professional growth
+ Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on technical matters requiring coordination between organizations
+ Provides leadership direction and guidance for research into the solution of engineering problems
+ Advises or directs the implementation of engineering solutions including strategic objectives and timetables
+ Directs the allocation of technical resources and professional staff to achieve objectives
+ Prepares status/progress reports and reports to executive management
+ Acts as spokesperson and represents the technical capabilities of the propulsion group
+ Responsible for observing all laws regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
+ Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
+ Other duties as assigned or requiredJob Qualifications:
+ Typically requires a bachelors degree masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree.
+ Direct experience with piston or turbine aircraft propulsion engineering and systems design as well as aircraft fuel and oil systems
+ Working knowledge of engine overhaul procedures and maintenance instructions
+ Understanding of military standards specs and configuration control
+ Customer focused formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems
+ Experience with FAR EASA or other airworthiness certification
+ CREO or Pro/E modeling drawing review and drafting experience
+ GD&T familiarity is desired
+ Working knowledge of MS OfficeTravel Percentage Required:
