We have a Senior Cable Assembler position available within our Mission Systems Division to support the Electrical Engineering team.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Lead a team of cable assemblers to build power and control systems for cutting edge laser and radar products.
+ Research mechanical components and cable assembly techniques for cable design and assembly and implement them with the team.
+ Participate in field and flight tests as necessary.
+ Functioning with minimal supervision and working independently this position fabricates modifies assembles installs operates repairs and maintains complex production equipment and experimental apparatus.
+ Responsible for fabrication modification installation testing and documentation of complex laboratory and experimental equipment/products such as but limited to coil winding systems vacuum systems cryogenic systems specialized mechanical test systems complex magnet flux mapping systems electrical/electronic control and measuring systems and mechanical measuring systems.
+ Operates specialized equipment or performs tests requiring knowledge of processes.
+ Interprets general instructions plans sequence of assembly maintains quality assurance documentation and prepares sketches and schematics.
+ Assists in the design of complex equipment and may perform the design of moderately complex equipment. Makes recommendations concerning design or feasibility of developmental test or experimental equipment.
+ Executes assigned set of production operations to meet schedule or complex experimental functions. Generates detailed rework or prototype procedures and is responsible for prototype or rework fabrication supervision.
+ Records and reports experimental or test data observing data for anomalies preparing summaries of data via written tabulations charts graphs and reports as necessary.
+ Diagnoses and corrects operational problems or trouble sources in production or test equipment. Develops maintenance program to prevent shutdown.
+ Initiates and is responsible for procurement of standard materials services and parts required for tests and equipment and provides necessary liaison in work area.
+ May serve as Lead Technician in work area on a large program including offsite or during shift work.Job Qualifications:
+ Typically requires associates degree or equivalent with training from the military and/or a trade school and twelve or more years of experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
+ Must possess leadership skills to lead a team to a high quality product to support project milestones and knowledge of industry standard cable assembly procedures for the aerospace industry.
+ Must have strong interpersonal skills and will be responsible for mentoring lower level technicians.
+ Must be able to interface with others of different technical backgrounds including Design Engineers Cable Designers System Engineers Mechanical Engineers Optical Engineers Scientists and Project/Program Managers to successfully complete the project.
+ Must be proficient in computer operations and applications pertinent to the field; have an analytical ability to interpret detailed instructions drawings and specifications as well as have competencies to define problems collect data establish facts and draw conclusions.
+ Communication skills necessary to write and record precise information and submit reports are required.
+ IPC-620 Certification Required.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.Travel Percentage Required:
