We have an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level System Test and Qualification Engineer (ST&Q) in our Project Engineering group. This position is located at our Poway California location supporting flight test engineering activities on General Atomics aircraft. Candidate will be interested in a fast pace aviation environment.Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Mid-Level employee will perform test progression from SIL through Ground and finally Flight testing of General Atomics products.
+ Perform Test and Evaluation (T&E) activities under supervision determine and develop various approaches to achieve T&E goals and help guide the completion of test activities.
+ Act as test engineer during SIL ground and flight operations. Test duties include system level T&E of hardware and software with emphasis placed on resource planning conducting SIL ground and flight testing and participating in technical test reviews.
+ Communicate clearly and in writing. Perform duties in the flight test program to include test plans SIL ground and flight test procedures and test reports. Work with government aircrew and support the conduct of preflight briefings and post flight debriefings.
+ Responsible for observing all laws regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.Job Qualifications:
+ Typically requires a bachelors or masters degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
+ Previous flight test engineer for a military contractor or organization including prior Department of Defense (DoD) is highly desired.
+ Experience as a test conductor test director test pilot/navigator or formal participation in a Combined Test Force (CTF) or Integrated Test Force (ITF) is desired.
+ Must have a general understanding of engineering concepts principles and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
+ Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
+ Strong computer and documentation experience desired.
+ Must have strong communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas.
+ Must be able to work extended hours as required.
+ An EIT (Engineer in Training) certificate is desirable.Travel Percentage Required:
