Inspector Maintenance II
Primary Job Duties: Assure that all aircraft maintenance work materials and practices conform to the standards established by SkyWest Airlines and that any aircraft engine propeller or appliance released for flight is airworthy. + Exercise individual initiative and judgment to make decisions when necessary concerning airworthiness of the aircraft + Must ascertain that all inspections are performed on all completed work before an aircraft is released for service and forms required for such release are properly executed + Will compare current aircraft maintenance logs with repeat item report to determine whether additional troubleshooting or corrective action may be warranted + Assure compliance with RII requirements as dictated in the GMPM + Assure that no aircraft is released in conflict with the MEL preamble and MEL procedures + Assure that all pilot discrepancies are addressed + Assure that aircraft flight log times are audited and corrected + Assist maintenance supervisor in reviewing the camp discrepancy logs and aircraft maintenance logs for repetitive squawks + Coordinate the functions of inspection with production to achieve efficient and economic processing of work + Perform all other tasks as assigned by the Manager of Quality Control + These duties and responsibilities may be delegated to a designated inspector as necessary + If a situation arises in which an inspector is unable to make an acceptable decision or judgment or his/her decision is challenged by another individual the matter will be referred to the Manager of Quality Control Minimum Requirements: + Must have a valid A&P Certificate + Familiar with inspection and maintenance procedures + Must be able to work unsupervised and be a self Starter + Must have excellent communication and people skills + Problem solving and organizational skills a must + Willing to work holidays and weekends + Conscientious and thorough in his/her work habits + Exercise good judgement in working with people as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety + Has a thorough knowledge of GMM policies and procedures. + Level III preferred + Familiar with FARs Physical and Other Requirements: Please complete the on-line application.
