When you e-mail directly from within the Avjobs Applicant Portal, the employer receives a notification of your interest in their open position.  This message includes your cover letter and all of your contact information within the body of the e-mail. This employer-preferred method makes it easy for them to quickly view your resume and online job application, while having a professional-looking version of your resume to quickly review.

Some companies have policies against opening ANY unfamiliar attachments to prevent viruses (our formats are virus-free). Even if they don't open attachments, they have everything they need to contact you in the Text version within your e-mail message.

Copying and Pasting formatted text into your email program or your browser can create glitches and strange characters that are visible only to the recipient. Attachments in the wrong format may turn out to be difficult or impossible for the employer to open. If there is a problem, the company won't tell you, they'll just push DELETE and go on to the next resume.
