Seeking a skilled and motivated Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) Technician to join our Flight Operations team in China Lake / Edwards AFB CA. This position will provide critical support for ALSS requirements across multiple military programs including the F-15 F/A-18 and other current and future platforms. The ideal candidate will be a qualified ALSS technician with military FAA or equivalent certification and experience capable of ensuring the highest standards of safety maintenance and operational readiness. Travelling: Edwards AFB CA /Palmdale CA /Henderson NV (Primarily at China Lake but may need to go to the other locations to support program) Key Responsibilities:
• Perform inspection maintenance repair and testing of aviation life support equipment including flight suits helmets oxygen systems ejection seats and survival gear.
• Support flight operations by ensuring all ALSS equipment meets regulatory and program-specific requirements.
• Coordinate with flight crews maintenance teams and program managers to maintain ALSS readiness and compliance.
• Document and report equipment status discrepancies and maintenance actions in accordance with Clients and military standards.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians and flight personnel on ALSS procedures and safety protocols.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ALSS technical orders manuals and regulatory guidance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance ALSS program effectiveness and safety. Required Skills:
• Qualified Aviation Life Support Systems Technician through a U.S. military service FAA certification or an equivalent recognized program.
• Experience supporting military aviation life support programs preferably with F-15 F/A-18 or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of military and FAA aviation safety standards technical orders and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Proficient in using maintenance tracking systems and standard office software (e.g. MS Office).
• U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience working in a military or defense contractor environment.
• Familiarity with multiple aircraft types and associated ALSS equipment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with diverse teams including pilots maintenance personnel and management.
• Ability to obtain a contractor Common Access Card (CAC) to military installations. Education/Experience: AA degree in related discipline and typically 6 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
