AECOM Aviation is currently looking for an Aviation Market Sector Lead to assist our Global Aviation Business Line and our Regional Transportation team to grow our aviation practice in the Eastern United States.
The Aviation Market Sector Lead will report directly to the Global Aviation Lead and will also have a secondary reporting line to our East Transportation Business Leader to drive growth and development within this market segment across the entire Eastern Region. The role will appeal to someone who is highly motivated to develop and drive a successful business and who has strong connections and networks within the larger commercial airport facilities up and down the eastern seaboard. This role will offer an excellent opportunity for development and collaboration with clients elected officials industry associations technical leaders and project specialists in a dynamic work environment and a culture that is direct supportive and flexible.

Core responsibilities include:
Responsible for driving the growth strategy and sale of AECOMs services to the Aviation sector including key strategic customers and partners in the East Region.
Works with the other business lines and market sector leaders in the region to ensure strategic business growth.
Builds strong relationships and interacts with clients teaming partners industry groups and stakeholders linked to the Aviation industry serving as an ambassador for AECOM.
Drawing on technical expertise directs the development of capture plans that conform to the business development strategy and technical capabilities.
Defines and mitigates risks and commercial terms during the pursuit process. Negotiates favorable contract terms and conditions manages achievement of sales goals gross margin backlog and other financial and business goals.
Key Performance Indicators: Sales NSR bookings book-to-burn backlog growth gross margin market share BD ROI client satisfaction industry leadership.
And when appropriate and needed serve as Principal in Charge or Project/Program Manager for key large pursuits in the region that are of strategic importance.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering + 12 years of related aviation engineering industry experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education including 4 years of leadership
Exceptional business development and client care skills and keen business acumen coupled with strong business development experience and solid technical skills in transportation projects developed within a professional services environment with consulting engineering experience;
Strong client relationships in the industry; proven industry leader
Strong leadership and group management experience and skills;
Outstanding communication interpersonal and relationship building skills with a dedication to developing lasting client partnerships (internally and externally);
An energetic and enthusiastic coaching and mentoring personality and philosophy with an ability to recognize and develop talent;
A trusted advisor and highly regarded leader who can garner client confidence.
Proven strengths in developing executing and achieving strategic and operational plans in a team environment.
Experience in Design-Build project development and delivery would be an asset
Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
Knowledgeable of current technology and its effective use on the project
