Aeronautical Software Engineer
This is a terrific opportunity to join a fast paced high-tech organization and immediately make an impact. AGI develops commercial off the shelf software for aerospace and defense and through our recent acquisition by Ansys for commercial industries as well. We deliver engineering software and solutions that can be used from concept design through operations. AGI is looking for creative minds to contribute to our Aviator product. Aviator has experienced consistent sales growth in recent years and industry trends emphasizing digital engineering and validation of digital twins mean that current and future Aviator capabilities will continue to be in demand. You will be developing testing and deploying capabilities as part of the Aviator development team. You are who were looking for if: you have an aeronautical/performance/controls background and some knowledge of flight simulation math; you are experienced or able to quickly pick up C++; you are curious versatile and a problem solver.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Active involvement in the design development and test of AGIs Aviator and other engineering applications
Design build and maintain efficient and reliable code
Identify bottlenecks and bugs as well as devise solutions to these problems
Collaborate with a diverse group of subject matter experts in physics math and engineering to generate requirements to drive software implementation
Communicate and evangelize best development practices and architectures
Support other teams such as product management engineering sales and marketing to help ensure Aviator product capabilities are aligned with market demands possibly including customer interactions and periodic travel (<10%)

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
() Aeronautical Engineering with knowledge of aircraft performance guidance and control processing as applied to flight simulation
Ability to come up to speed quickly with C++ and MS Visual Studio
3+ years of experience
Strong commitment to good architecture usability and testing practices in our fast paced development environment
Highly Preferred Skills:
MATLAB and/or Python or equivalent knowledge for prototyping algorithms and building tools.
Experience with software configuration management tools (Perforce preferred)
Necessary skills experience and proactiveness to not only follow existing code patterns but also identify where existing code could be improved
Nice to Have Skills:
Subject matter expertise in helicopter/rotorcraft flight dynamics
Familiarity with ARINC DAFIF AIXM FIXM and other evolving aeronautical data standards
Knowledge of modeling and simulation standards and protocols
