LEO Lecturer III - Aerospace EngineeringJob SummaryThe Michigan Aerospace Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan is seeking an LEO Lecturer III focused on teaching core aerospace undergraduate theoretical and laboratory courses and selected graduate courses. Candidates should have a strong interest and demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate students and/or early-stage engineering professionals. Courses are offered during Fall and Winter terms. Candidates are also expected to participate in various departmental services including advising student groups and serving on departmental committees. The expected percentage effort for this position will be 100% effort.Course DescriptionThe Michigan Aerospace Engineering Department has developed a curriculum devoted to covering the various topics in aerospace engineering: aerodynamics propulsion structures and materials dynamics and control systems engineering and computation. While all areas will be considered current needs focus on aerodynamics propulsion and laboratory courses.Required QualificationsPhD degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.Demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate engineering courses in aerospace or mechanical engineering programs.Demonstrated knowledge of aerodynamics and propulsion.Exceptional communication (oral written) skills.Experience with and a passion for mentoring and developing future engineers and leaders.Desired QualificationsDemonstrated record of scholarly work in the field of aerodynamics and propulsion.Knowledge of scientific computing.Laboratory teaching experience.Ability and willingness to teach in all areas in the aerospace engineering curriculum.U-M EEO/AA StatementThe University of Michigan is an equal opportunity employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
