Job Title:?Quality Control Manager – MRO (CFM Engines & Module Repair) 

Job Summary: 
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and inspection functions forCFM engine and module repair operations?within an FAA/EASA?approved MRO environment. This role ensures full compliance with regulatory requirements, OEM standards, and internal procedures while managing and developing a team of certified inspectors. The position plays a critical leadership role in maintaining airworthiness, product integrity, and operational excellence. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Quality & Regulatory Compliance: 

  • Ensure compliance withFAA, EASA, and other applicable regulatory requirements,including Part 145 and customer contractual obligations 

  • Oversee adherence to CFM International, OEM, and approved data requirements for engine and module repair 

  • Maintain and enforce the Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), and associated procedures 

  • Serve as the primary quality liaison with regulatory authorities, customers, and auditors 

  • Lead internal, customer, and regulatory audits; manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) 

Inspection & Technical Oversight 

  • Direct inspection activities for CFM engine modules, including but not limited to: 

  • Fan, LPC, HPC, combustor, HPT, LPT modules 

  • Ensure inspections are performed in accordance with approved data, work instructions, and airworthiness standards 

  • Review and approve inspection records, certifications, and release documentation 

  • Provide technical guidance on inspection methods, non?conformance resolution, and repair dispositions 

Leadership & People Management 

  • Manage, mentor, and developa team of Quality Inspectors?(A&P, RII, or equivalent) 

  • Assign workload, ensure proper certifications and training, and evaluate inspector performance  

  • Promote a strong safety culture and quality mindset?across the organization 

  • Identify training needs and support qualification and recurrent training programs 

Continuous Improvement & Risk Management 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality performance and reduce repeat findings 

  • Analyze quality trends, escapes, and non?conformances; implement root cause analysis and corrective actions 

  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence initiatives as applicable 

  • Participate in management review meetings and contribute to strategic quality planning 

 Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation, Engineering, Quality, or a related field preferred 

  • Equivalent experience in lieu of degree will be considered 

  • Minimum 7–10 years?of experience in an aviation MRO quality or inspection environment 

  • Direct experience with CFM engines and module repair 

  • Minimum 3–5 years of leadership or supervisory experience?managing inspectors or quality personnel 

  • Demonstrated experience with FAA/EASA audits and regulatory oversight 

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred 

  • FAA Repair Station experience (Part 145 required) 

  • Strong working knowledge of: 

  • FAA Regulations (14 CFR Parts 43 & 145) 

  • EASA Part 145 

  • CFM/OEM manuals, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives 

  • Non-destructive inspection (NDI/NDT) principles (knowledge required; certification a plus) 

 Skills and Competencies  

  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills  

  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a production environment 

  • Proven ability to interpret technical data and regulatory requirements 

  • Effective problem?solving and root cause analysis skills 

  • Proficient with MRO ERP systems, quality reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications 

Work Environment: 

  • Hanger, shop, and office environment  

  • May require occasional travel for audits, training, or customer support 

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support operational requirements 

  • Require overtime or shift work based on operational needs
