Position Summary: The Avionics Design Engineer will support our FAA STC in the certification of 14 CFR part 23/25 aircraft modifications. Responsibilities and Duties: Integrate complex avionics and electrical system Present concept fabrication drawings and subsequent installation drawings in support of STC projects Develop efficient and accurate certification approaches for 14 CFR part 23/25 aircraft modifications Develop documentation in support of STC certifications Develop organized project proposals project certification plans and project schedules Coordinate internal groups to communicate execute and meet project goals Accurately define aircraft modification compliance requirements in accordance with 14 CFR part 23/25 Assist in the preparation and verification of aircraft installations and FAA certification documents Generate conception layout and detail design of aircraft components and systems Prepare timely and accurate manuals reports plans and analyses required for FAA aircraft certification projects Conduct component and aircraft ground test activity Participate in experimental flight test activity Other duties as assigned Education and Experience: Bachelor s degree in aerospace mechanical or electrical engineering Minimum 8 years working experience in FAA 14 CFR part 23/25 aircraft certification projects Certifications and Licenses: Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate desired Knowledge and Skills: Skilled with Microsoft Office products (Word Excel Project Visio and Access) Highly proficient with drafting processes using AutoCAD or SolidWorks to develop efficient and accurate detail design assembly and installation drawings Exceptional organizational skills Exceptional written and oral communication skills Team player who can work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision Physical Requirements: Requires prolonged periods of sitting at desk. Must be able to use hands and arms for repetitive movements such as movement of wrists hands fingers while typing. May occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 10lbs.
