Special Operations Pilot Overview: Special Operations Pilots command either fixed wing aircraft or helicopters and crews that accomplish special operations training and other missions on a global scale. Position: Officer AFSC: 11SX Specific Tasks: Supervise mission planning preparation filing of flight plan and crew briefing Pilot aircraft and command crew Ensure aircraft is preflighted inspected loaded equipped and manned for mission Conduct training of crewmembers and ensure operational readiness Requirements: Bachelors degree; an undergraduate degree specializing in physical sciences mathematics administration or management is desirable Commission as an officer in the Air Force Reserve Current aeronautical rating and qualification for aviation service as pilot Eligibility for Top Secret security clearance Training: For those without a prior military service commission successful completion of the eight-week Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB AL is required Completion of Air Force Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training (SUPT) For more information on how to attend Undergraduate Flying Training please download the Undergraduate Flying Training Guidebook For more information on how to join the AFR as a qualified pilot please download the Pilot Opportunities Guidebook .
