As an Operational Control Specialist youre not just monitoring flights-youre helping protect every patient pilot and crew member in the air.
From our Operations Control Center in Greenwood Village youll serve as a critical line of defense in our safety-first culture ensuring every flight meets the highest standards before during and after takeoff.
Operating 24/7/365 across the U.S. and internationally this team is the heartbeat of safe flight operations-tracking conditions in real time supporting pilots with key decisions and stepping in when it matters most. Your judgment attention to detail and commitment to safety will directly impact mission success.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and oversee safe conduct of flight operations of the companys aircraft.
- Monitor crew duty time limitations currency requirements and aircraft status to ensure compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR).
- Review all medical Flight Risk Assessments as required with the pilot-in-command in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations.
- Collect disseminate and distribute all information regarding Operational Control problems which require immediate attention. Expedite follow-up action as required to resolve such problems.
- Report and record all irregularities which involve flight operations safety or emergency measures.
- Analyze and evaluate meteorological information to determine potential hazards to safety of flight.
- Communicate information and data as required especially regarding hazardous flight conditions and pertinent information affecting the safety of flight
- Participate in frequent and detailed recurrent training courses covering company operations policy and Federal Air Regulations as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
- Maintain current knowledge and understanding of all operation manuals and regulatory requirements pertinent to areas of responsibility and authority.
- Other Duties as assigned.
- Regular scheduled attendance rotating shifts 8-10 hours day mid and night
- Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling: 10%
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Successfully pass knowledge and practical test required of 14 CFR 135.619
- Successfully pass FAA mandated Drug and Alcohol Test
- 2+ years experience (within the last 5 years) in any one or a combination of the following:
- Military aircraft operations as a pilot or meteorologist
- Part 135 Air Ambulance Air carrier operations as a pilot (helicopter or airplane)
- Air carrier operations as a certified aircraft dispatcher or meteorologist
- Aircraft operations as an air traffic controller or flight service specialist
- Air Ambulance Communication Center Flight Follower
- Demonstrated ability to us active listening good judgement and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word Excelt and Outlook
- FAA Commercial/Instrument (Rotorcraft or Airplane) Certificate or FAA Dispatcher Certificate preferred

USD $58000.00/Yr.
Maximum Pay
USD $73000.00/Yr.
