Aviation Data Specialist (Flight Students and Pilots)

$12-25/hr Remote Freelance AUDIO

Whether youre training towards your PPL at a local airfield working through your CPL or ATPL theory or youre an aviation graduate looking for flexible work — this role lets you put your specialist knowledge to real use.

This is a fully remote flexible contract role — work on your own schedule while doing something genuinely meaningful.

What Youll Do

• Listen to and transcribe real pilot-to-ATC (air traffic control) audio recordings with precision
• Review and validate AI-generated transcriptions for accuracy in aviation terminology and phraseology
• Label and annotate audio data to help AI systems understand real-world aviation communication
• Flag errors miscommunications or unclear audio segments using structured guidelines
• Apply your knowledge of standard aviation language (ICAO phraseology readbacks clearances) to ensure high-quality outputs
• Work independently and asynchronously at your own pace

Who You Are

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a flight training program (PPL CPL ATPL or equivalent — EASA or UK CAA)
• Familiar with standard pilot-to-ATC communication and aviation radio phraseology
• Strong listening comprehension and attention to detail
• Comfortable working with audio tools and structured data entry
• Reliable self-motivated and able to meet quality benchmarks independently
• No prior AI or data labeling experience required — well provide all the guidance you need

Nice to Have

• Logged flight hours or simulator experience
• Familiarity with ICAO EASA or UK CAA communication standards
• Background in aviation safety dispatch or ATC
• Understanding of UK airspace classifications and procedures
