Course topics may include but are not limited to:Private PilotInstrument RatingCommercial PilotHistory of AviationAviation ManagementAerodynamicsLaws and FARsAircraft Engines and SystemsSafety of FlightHuman Factors in AviationMeteorologyAir Traffic ControlDuties1. Plan and deliver course information in timely manner using appropriate technology2. Complete paperwork at beginning and end of each semester3. Maintain grade and attendance information4. Utilize Moodle software5. Gather and maintain appropriate FAR part 141 paperwork and recordsMinimum Requirements1. Associate degree in related field2. Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) or Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI) for private pilot courses; Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument Airplane (CFI-I) or Instrument Ground Instructor (IGI) for Instrument Rating courses3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office4. Excellent presentation and communication skills5. Must meet all FAR part 141 ground instructor requirements and be proficient with FAR part 141 regulations pertaining to pilot ground schools student pilots private pilots commercial pilots and instrument rating to teach part 141 ground school courses (e.g. private/commercial pilot instrument rating)Preferred Qualifications1. Bachelor degree or higher in Aviation/Aerospace2. Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)3. Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument Airplane (CFI-I)4. Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot5. Minimum 2 years aviation teaching experience with FAR part 141 schoolSpecial Instructions to Applicants1.
