PECO-Astronics located in Clackamas Oregon designs and manufactures highly engineered commercial aerospace interior components and systems for the aerospace industry. We specialize in Passenger Service Units (PSUs) which incorporate air handling emergency oxygen electrical power management and cabin lighting systems. We also manufacture a wide range of fuel tank access doors that meet stringent strength fuel sealing and anti-corrosion requirements.
We are seeking to add a Tool and Die Maker to join our great team.
The purpose of this position is to keep tooling operable and provide the necessary repairs modifications and construction of molds dies tooling and fixtures for the entire facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work independently without instruction.
Working knowledge of Engineering and design coupled with a strong mechanical background.
Analyses and resolves problems related to tooling performance.
Interprets specifications and maintains liaisons with Engineering.
Operates all machine tools accessories and processes including casting coining and molding.
Use a variety of steels plastics and composites.
Working knowledge of heat treating of metals including tool steels.
Working familiarity of pneumatics and hydraulics.
Attends Quality Manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly.
Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
Sweep and clean up work area and equipment.
Reports consistently to work and is on time. Able to work an eight-hour shift.

Proper foot wear safety glasses and hearing protection are required.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
