These roles can be located at our Englewood Colorado or Loveland Ohio facilities.
Role Overview
Beehive Industries is providing the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the engineering field specifically in assisting in the design and manufacturing of cutting-edge small engines used in military applications. Interns will work on real-world problems develop professional and technical skills and build relationships with peers and leaders preparing for potential full-time roles after graduation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist and shadow engineers in the execution design analysis and evaluation of turbomachinery components and assemblies using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements.
- Be exposed to the creation of definitions of parts modules and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections 3D models tolerance stackups and electronic data formats to support analysis manufacturing and assembly.
- Participate in seeing how quality checks are used to eliminate interferences and to ensure interface requirements are met.
- Gain experience in how drawings and models are managed consistent with industry standards for configuration management.
- Get hands on with our testing and troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies and parts on our engine rigs.
- Learn how product design leads to product definition following standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Be debriefed on design reviews and hear from other disciplines in design performance controls and system integration.
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
- Learn about the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a full-time nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program in engineering (acceptable degrees include Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering).
- Willingness and ability to work in the United States primarily in Cincinnati OH or Denver CO areas.
- Reliable transportation as many sites do not have public transportation available.
Nice-to-haves:
- Upperclassmen are preferred due to the nature of the work.
- Engineering aptitude and passion for aerospace technology.
- Strong knowledge of computer and Microsoft products.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.

In compliance with Colorados Equal Pay for Equal Work Act the salary range for this position is $25.00 per hour. Please note that wage information is a general guideline only and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position candidates work experience education/training key skills and market conditions when extending an offer.
