A Sr. Mechanical Engineer job is available with our client in Middletown RI. In this role you will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing building and testing a torpedo tube deployment system capable of launching payloads from a submarine platform. To be considered for this role you will have a Bachelor"s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Science Engineering or Mathematics field and a minimum of 8 or more years of job-related experience. Due to the nature of the work performed in this facility US citizenship is required.

Sr. Mechanical Engineer Job Duties:

Design of electro-mechanical systems capable of surviving harsh environmental conditions (shock vibration temperature).

Proficiency utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards.

Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor"s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Science Engineering or Mathematics field and a minimum of 8 or more years of job-related experience.

Advanced proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings.

Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods as well as technical government and industry standards.

Exceptional communication skills with experience writing technical papers and proposals.

Collaborative creative thinker with experience leading complex projects with successful outcomes.
