Position description: This Co-Op position will support the Bell Piney Flats Customization department by performing a mix of line crew duties and entry-level avionics work with the opportunity to develop. Responsibilities will include: Work 17-19 hours per week Assist with avionics repair and system installation Assist with installing avionics kits Assist with testing and maintaining electrical systems Assist with installing wires and building wiring harnesses Standing on ladders to wash and detail aircraft Fueling and manually moving aircraft to meet schedule and department requirements Assisting in flight line duties (ex. removing main rotor blades from aircraft) Performing incoming inspections on aircraft and applying protective coverings Performing regular inspections on the fuel farm Performing routine inspections on overhead hoists Moving loose equipment and aircraft cowlings Cleaning aircraft hangars Monitoring inside and outside of hangars to prevent clutter in storage areas Other general manual labor and miscellaneous duties as assigned Pack and wrap items for overseas shipment Understand safe and applicable use for basic hand tools Learn and apply knowledge of tasks Read and interpret installation instructions Demonstrate consistent ability to perform most tasks with limited errors or rework Demonstrate safe work habits and always wear proper PPE Other tasks as assigned Eligible candidates must be actively enrolled in a degree program related to job duties through an accredited institution. Other general requirements: High school diploma or GED Some basic hand tool knowledge. (No previous aviation experience required.) Attention to detail ability to follow instructions closely good organization skills Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment Previous mechanical work experience or detailing experience may be a plus Physical requirements: Ability to climb and work from a ladder while using appropriate equipment Ability to be on feet for duration of shift Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis Dont miss the chance to join a diverse inclusive environment where you feel a sense of belonging.
