As part of a small hardworking and accomplished team of specialists you will develop and execute commercial quality processes for the design test and manufacture of launch vehicles spacecraft and related technologies. You will be responsible to drive quality products throughout the organization by maintaining a corporate culture that emphasizes accountability and attention to detail at all levels. You must have a passion for solving sophisticated problems and providing operable solutions; act with minimal direction and on your own initiative; and be adaptable as you will work on a variety of applications and systems. We are looking for an individual that can implement innovative quality initiatives that will support development and low-rate engine production. As a team we will create and integrate quality system applications between engineering manufacturing and operations to ensure the consistent and ongoing use of quality standards and communication of quality issues. Resolve production issues with diverse teams and lead causal analysis activities to achieve root cause and corrective action. Additional responsibilities include: Establish implement maintain and enforce quality system processes that support products in development and production environments Measure analyze and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals Review and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records. Perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100 Participate in engineering design reviews and make recommendations to improve the quality and manufacturability of new designs Recommend and improve initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system quality Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection manufacturing and test for the Subassemblies and New Glenn team Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness You will share in the teams impact of development activities as we help business units achieve their mission! Passion for our mission and vision is required! Qualifications: Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space! Minimum of a B.S. in engineering/science or American Society of Quality Certified Quality Engineer certification 6+ years industry experience in the engineering field with at least 2 years in a quality engineer role Quality experience in production environment. Aerospace space launch or military or commercial aviation preferred Familiarity with AS9100D or ISO9000 Quality Management System Ability to earn trust maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Desired: Excellent communication skills Shown experience in transitioning a product from development through production to operations Experience in data analysis and Quality metrics (SQL Tableau Excel) QMS audit experience and quality performance measurement analysis capabilities Six Sigma Green Black Belt or comparable certification ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e. current green card holder) or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. 1157-1158.
