Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is actively seeking an Advanced WeaponsMission Systems Capability Leader (K-Level Manager) for the Phantom Works (PW) organization in St Charles, MO. The Phantom Works Mission Systems (MS) Capability Team is looking for a highly motivated, energetic leader to execute key advanced weapon development activities.  MS weapon elements include primarily sensors and seekers, communication links, software and algorithms, deployment platform integration attributes, and supplier engineering management. This position will lead a small team of engineers at a variety of skill levels and work across the advanced weapons programs within PW.

The PW advanced weapons team has several development programs in process.  This position will serves two key roles:

  • Mission systems supplier engineering lead, primarily for the Ramjet 155 program seeker sensor supplier.

  • MS capability leader for multiple advanced weapon programs to provide engineering resources, and support program execution for the MS components (seekers, datalinks, navigation, power systems, integration, test, etc).

Position Responsilbites:

  • Ramjet 155 Program Specific:

    • Integrated Product Team lead for the Ramjet 155 Seeker Development

    • Responsibility for Cost / Technical / Schedule

    • Direct oversight of the seeker supplier and collaboration with the US Army customer

    • Ensuring successful integration of the seeker into the overall Ramjet system (performance, modes, Size-Weight-Power-Cooling or SWaPC, etc.)

  • General Capability Leader:

    • Leading and growing a team of engineers that will execute adv weapon design and development

    • Provide technical guidance and direction for the team as they execute weapon seeker sensor design and development (both Radio Frequency and Electro-Optic)

    • Manage engineering with seeker sensor suppliers, while working closely with the Supply Chain function; including the establishment and management of subcontracts

    • Manage key Customer relationships

    • Brief senior and executive leadership both Boeing and Customer

This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited course of study in Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics.

  • 5+ years of experience in project leadership roles and/or management.

  • 5+ years of experience in mission systems development and integration.

  • 5+ years of experience with Radio Frequency and/or Electro-Optic sensor subsystem development and integration.

  • 5+ years of experience with supplier management experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Masters of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Science, Technology, Engineering, and / or Mathematics.

  • People management experience.

  • Multi-program/organization collaboration experience.

  • Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering principles and tools (e.g. Ops analysis, subsystem/sensor models, emulators, tools like AFSIM, Cameo, etc.).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
