Boeing Defense, Space & Security VC-25B (747-8) Certification Integration IPT is seeking an experienced certification engineer (Level 4) to lead the applicant role of certification for the VC25B program.  The VC-25B is a Military Commercial DerivativeAircraft (MCDA) program and thus has aspects of STC and MTC certification.  The individual in this role will coordinate and collaborate with the Regulatory Administration/ODA team as well as the program IPTs within Boeing and the USAF Program Office.  The individual must be enthusiastic and engaging, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.  The position is located in San Antonio, TX. Some travel may be required.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead cross-functional teams resulting in resolution of technical issues

  • Coordinate technical messaging and partnering with the FAA and USAF Program Office on regulatory strategies and issues

  • Develop strategic action plans for changes to certification processes and execute those plans through completion

  • Own, manage and have technical aptitude to enable execution of certification process/procedure documents (BPM, BPIs, D6s, D950s, etc.)

  • Have familiarization and technical knowledge of Boeing’s Organization Delegation Authorization (ODA) procedures manual

  • Ensure proper coordination across products, platforms and functional areas to promote culture of compliance to requirements and application of procedures and FAA guidance

This position allows telecommuting.  The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 5+ years of experience with Systems Engineer Principles

  • 5+ years of experience working with FAA and or Military type certification requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working directly with the FAA or and ODA on type Certification projects

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with MIL-HDBK-516D

  • 5+ years of experience with 14 CFR Part 21 Type Certification/Supplemental Type Certification Procedures

  • 5+ years of experience FAA Order 8110.4 and Advisory Circular 21-40A

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelors degree and typically 9 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with typically 7 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
