The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer located in El Segundo, CA or Huntington Beach, CA.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the development, validation and implementation of advanced simulation and visualization tools. 
  • Employ advanced modeling and simulation techniques to validate proposed factory layouts and build-flow strategies. 
  • Provide visibility and recommendations to management on key virtual manufacturing, visualization and simulation technologies. 
  • Investigate emerging robotics technologies in support of future factory concepts/designs.  Assist on-site programs in resolving complex technical problems affecting manufacturing and product integration. 
  • Review of customer requirements and develop ideas/concepts for manufacturing processes and establish methods to meet operational/customer requirements. 
  • Provide expertise and consultations on enabler computing methodologies and technologies in support of manufacturing engineering initiatives. 

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Must be familiar with factory design environments/tools, design architecture synthesis, integration and interface management techniques include: conceptualization, functional analysis, modeling and simulation, trade studies, interface definition, producibility analyses, and product integration. 
  • Must have a minimum of 9 or more years of experience in development, deployment and use of (advanced) modeling and simulation tools. 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • CATIA V5
  • DELMIA
  • Strongly prefer a minimum of 15 or more years of experience in development, deployment and use of (advanced) modeling and simulation tools. 

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation: 

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
