Boeing is looking for a Senior Flight Systems Technology Business Operations Specialist based out of Huntington Beach, California or Hazelwood, Missouri.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for the development and assessment of resource forecasts and/or Estimates at Completion (EACs) of control accounts, budgets, functions or pools; financial EACs for contracts, programs and smaller projects.
  • Works with and provides recommendations to program/project leadership and finance office personnel focused on bettering analysis products: resource forecasts and/or control account EACs; financial EACs.
  • Guides, integrates, assesses, and collaborates to help compile data from multiple sources to develop metrics and performance reports.
  • Initiates, crafts and coordinates variance analyses and helps provide understanding of operational and financial performance to management.
  • Makes recommendations and risk assessment to/for management on financial performance projections using financial, business knowledge, experience and engineering team inputs.
  • Guides development, review, cost analysis and/or schedule performance measurement baselines, including earned value, and variance analyses and understands cost and/or schedule trends.
  • Helps develop proposal inputs as required.
  • Leads and mentors more junior Business Ops Specialists and others as appropriate and necessary.
  • Guides and facilitates the development and integration of programs, plans, strategies and processes to meet business goals for authorization, such as sourcing strategy for commitment of work, cost imperatives and deploy impact analyses.
  • Coordinates and clarifies the analysis with business partners to validate results and determine scope to meet long range business goals and develop business case.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to less experienced personnel.
  • Coordinates the commitments with internal and external organizations for large scale complex plans to fulfill the broad level strategies established by executive leadership.
  • Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case.
  • Presents plans to executive leadership to gain approval.
  • Provides implementation direction for work authorization.
  • Facilitates the establishment of an overall management system architecture by utilizing the Program Management Best Practices.
  • Develops and maintains visibility system in support of the architecture.
  • Utilizes the management systems and processes to provide status information on commitments and compliance to plan.
  • Ensures follow up action for issue resolution.
  • Represents executive management to internal and external business interests in areas such as communicating business policy, strategy and direction.
  • Assists in task management and provides expert business advice to enable a more efficient use of management and other engineering resources.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience with end-to-end project/program management: conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close
  • 5+ years of experience working across multiple business units and interfacing with key stakeholders
  • 5+ years of experience consulting with and presenting to senior leaders

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active Security Clearance
  • 5+ years of experience developing and implementing process improvements
  • Experience working with diverse and geographically dispersed teams
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified
  • AGILE Certification
  • Experience in coaching or mentoring employees

Typical Education/Experience: 
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years related work experience, 19 years related work experience, etc.).
