The opportunity

Boeing is building the MQ?28 Ghost Bat — a next?generation autonomous platform — and we are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer Lead to take technical ownership of quality integration across design, production and supplier delivery. In this senior individual contributor role, you will lead the integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into proposals, program processes and supplier activities. You will work closely with the Supplier Quality Manager, MQ?28 Quality and Production leadership, and cross?functional engineering teams to ensure Supplier readiness, production readiness and ongoing supplier performance.

You will be expected to work with minimal direction, develop pragmatic solutions for complex problems, and lead reviews and strategies to ensure quality attributes are embedded in design and manufacturing.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of contractual, regulatory and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into program plans, proposals, product designs and supplier agreements.
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics, design and production certification plans, and supplier selection criteria.
  • Plan and conduct supplier audits and assessments of systems, processes and products; document and report results and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Define and select methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Lead design and production reviews to ensure quality attributes are captured in product designs and specifications.
  • Analyze non?conformance trends, develop corrective and preventive actions, and support implementation and verification of effectiveness.
  • Develop and update standards for repairs and quality level dispositions for non?conformances.
  • Provide technical coaching and supplier education on quality systems, compliance, and Boeing initiatives.
  • Support capacity and capability assessments for current and potential suppliers.
  • Proactively coach the current Supplier Quality team.
  • Play a key role in delivering the MQ?28 Ghost Bat to operational readiness.

Basic Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management with progressive responsibility (senior/lead level).
  • Demonstrated experience leading Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) activities and implementing corrective action plans (e.g., 8D, ICAM).
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, schematics and change documentation.
  • Experience developing quality metrics, certification plans and supplier selection criteria.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Be an Australian citizen and able to obtain and maintain an Australian Department of Defence clearance up to NV1 level.

Technical Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes and capabilities (composites, structures, harnessing, etc.) and the data required to define delivery configurations (design definition, program directives, drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams, functional tests, supplier data).
  • Strong understanding of supplier organizations, business systems, risk mitigation, capacity planning and production performance.
  • Expertise in configuration management, drawing/data systems, part number control and product identification.
  • Experience with producibility and process improvement methodologies (SPC, HVC, Six?Sigma) and risk assessment tools (FMEA, fault tree analysis).
  • Ability to develop and use advanced analysis and benchmarking techniques to verify process capability and readiness.
  • Strong systems thinking understand cross?discipline interactions (Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Business) and how changes affect the whole program.
  • IT fluency with business systems, data analysis tools and documentation platforms.
