Boeing is seeking a Mid-level Quality Engineer to work in Global Services F-22 Raptor Program. This mid-level Quality Engineer will support the defense Raptor program through all phases of the development life-cycle from inception to post-delivery on aircraft labs aircrew and maintenance training devices.

This position will: Integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. Develops quality metrics design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual Company and regulatory requirements. Review Engineering Drawings Source Control Drawings Specifications and Supplier Statements of Works of complex aircraft components to ensure first time quality. Also review suppliers manufacturing plans and manufacturing work instructions for complex/critical aircraft components and assemblies to ensure flow down of quality and specification requirements. Functional expert in inspection techniques and tools Aerospace industry specifications and company policies/procedures to provide. Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs (PCA FCA APT etc.). Performs analysis and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Review Engineering Drawings Source Control Drawings Specifications and Supplier Statements of Works of complex aircraft components to ensure first time quality.
  • Review suppliers manufacturing plans and manufacturing work instructions for complex/critical aircraft components and assemblies to ensure flow down of quality and specification requirements.
  • Functional expert in inspection techniques and tools Aerospace industry specifications and company policies/procedures to provide feedback to Engineering Functions Program Management Suppliers and government customers.
  • Responsible for providing input to Supplier Recurrent Approvals Source Inspections and Supplier Audits
  • Identify prepare and present metrics associated with quality trends and related improvements to program leadership and the customer.
  • Interact and communicate directly with customer government organizations (Air Force DCMA) to ensure contractual quality requirements are met.
  • Integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs (PCA FCA APT etc.).
  • Performs analysis and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under general direction

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry.
  • 3+ years Quality / AS9100 / Aerospace Quality Processes experience (e.g. AS9102 FAI AS9146 APQP AS9146 FOD ACSI/FCT/FC/DC processes)
  • 3+ years of reading blueprints and working with requirements working with manufacturing plans and reviewing instructions for aerospace manufacturing processes.
  • 3+ years working with RCCA and a demonstrated ability to lead and drive continuous improvement teams
  • Proven ability to build and trouble shoot quality metrics develop dashboards and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • 3+ years of experience performing data manipulation in Excel (e.g. develop and input formulas calculate values from a dataset)
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving abilities
  • Strong knowledge of Aerospace industry standards specifications and practices.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Previous work in the Aviation industry
  • LEAN
  • Experience working projects

Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA ABET accreditation is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.
