Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is currently seeking an Experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to join the Air Dominance Armament and Mechanisms Team located in Berkeley, MO.

This position will focus on supporting the BDS business organization working on integrating new stores onto both the F-15 and F/A-18 Platform and supporting current Pylon, Gun System, and Missile Launcher Production.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design

  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the products environment

  • Guide product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance

  • Develop test plan and configuration, support test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied

  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements

  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% on site. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years of working experience with a Bachelor’s OR 3+ years with a Master’s OR a PhD

  • Experience with structural analysis software such as Abacus, NASTRAN, and StressCheck

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to develop and review technical reports and present results

  • Proficient utilizing Microsoft Office Software

  • Knowledge and experience with fixed wing military aircraft platforms

  • Ability to understand and write engineering reports based on analysis results, test findings, and maintenance reports

  • Ability to provide training/mentoring to early career engineers

  • Experience working in a diverse Integrated Product Team (IPT)

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel at all organization levels including suppliers and customers

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
