The Onboard Network Systems (ONS) team is looking for a Senior Software Application Tester(Level 5) to test client/server software requirements for future releases, based out of Seattle, Washington.
ONS software manages onboard networks, off-board communication, Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) data load, file storage, third party developed software, and a whole host of additional features that airline customers rely on.
The Senior Software Application Tester will work in multi-disciplinary teams with Software Engineers, System Engineers, business leaders, and airline customers to design and build new ONS platform features.
Develops test procedures, scripts, and test stimuli to support software integration and formal software testing
Interfaces with software development, systems engineering, and avionics teams in order to maintain requirements and verification methods
Evaluates proposed changes for impacts (cost, schedule, risk)
Plans, leads, and executes continuous improvements in software testing
Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects
Mentors and cross trains other engineers
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience with software testing at different levels, including component, configuration item, subsystem, integration/system, and acceptance testing
Experience with testing, writing test plans, conducting tests, and writing test reports
2+ years of experience in software system test, requirements and working with airborne certified software and hardware
3+ years of experience with complex multi-system level integration and test
2+ years of experience with network protocols and/or routing table definition
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with software configuration management tools ClearQuest/ClearCase or Jira
Experience with airplane communication protocols
Experience testing client/server architecture
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years related work experience, Master+12 years related work experience, 18 years related work experience, etc.).
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
