The Boeing Company’s Information Technology and Data Analytics (IT & DA) organization Specialized Infrastructure Operations group is currently seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join the team in Herndon, VA

As a member of the team, you are an integral part in developing hardware and software solutions for proprietary programs for our client. We translate customer needs into detailed requirements for system integrated designs including system architectures for current operations and program growth, facility design, hardware selection, software selection and development, system integration, testing and, operations and maintenance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversees system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture

  • Provides complex problem resolution, root cause analysis and technical support for delivery systems

  • Participates in the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems

  • Plans and coordinates system changes

  • Administers user system access and establishes safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements

  • Oversees activities to monitor system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning

  • Mentors, leads and trains others

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Successfully completed a Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years or agreed to enter a Continuous Vetting program such that 5 year updates are no longer required

  • Active Counter-Intelligence polygraph

  • 5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership

  • 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting complex network problems

  • Experience as a system administrator of Linux/Unix or Windows platforms

  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with VDI infrastructure, monitoring infrastructure, securing infrastructure, documenting in confluence and task tracking in Jira

  • Experience with RedHat Linux

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows server

  • Experience with DISA standards such as STIGs

Summary pay range: $116,450 – $157,550
