Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Engineer Supplier Quality to join our dynamic team in Lexington, KY.

The job also requires the candidate be able to work (virtually) in which the selected candidate will be stationed in an office at home, a nearby site, or at a resident supplier.  This is different from the traditional brick and mortar businesses in that our teams are significantly spread-out.  If working from home, it requires that you have or can obtain a secured high speed internet connection and have a designated area that you can conduct your professional business in. In addition, the job does require that you have a privately-owned vehicle and valid driver’s license to support the work at our suppliers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under general direction.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform work in Lexington, KY area.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • 5 years experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management
  • Experience reading engineering blueprints/drawings
  • Current and valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in Quality / AS9100 / Aerospace Quality Processes (e.g. AS9102 FAI, AS9146 APQP, AS9146 FOD, ACSI/FCT/FC/DC processes)
  • Experience in performing product or process inspections
  • Experience in the application / deployment of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) or AS9145 within organizations
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA)

Typical Education & Experience:

Bachelors degree and typically 5 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with typically 3 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 50% of the time.
