About the role

We are seeking a talented Program Manager to lead The Boeing Companys C-17 Field Services and Training Systems team at RAAF Base Amberley.  Part of Boeing Defence Australias Sustainment Operations unit, working alongside our RAAF customer and supporting global C-17 operators, you will serve as the on-location Program Representative responsible for leadership and execution of the Globemaster III Sustainment and Training Systems Contracts.

The Boeing C-17A Globemaster III is Australias largest heavy airlift asset, and the principal transporter for the Australian Defence Force, providing vital airlift support to military, humanitarian and peacekeeping missions around the globe.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a multi-disciplined team and serve as the on-location Program representative reporting to the C17 International Senior Program Manager.
  • Lead and integrate an international multi-disciplined team of C-17 specialists comprising of Field Engineering & Technical Support, Supply Chain and Data Management.
  • Manage and support C-17 Training System activities including Pilot, Loadmaster and Maintenance Instruction and Device Maintenance.
  • Interface with senior military officers and their designees to ensure delivery of high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Develop and establish policies, organizational structures and report performance targets to Executive Management.
  • This position requires proficiency working in a multi-disciplined environment, together with a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
  • This position requires the ability to function in a demanding, on-call, around the clock operational environment and must be willing to travel occasionally.

Skills & Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree is derisible but not essential where candidates have project management experience, leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience dealing with senior military and company officials.
  • Familiarity with aviation maintenance practices and procedures is essential.  Familiarity with Boeing and Commonwealth supply systems desirable.
  • Business (Financial) acumen - Understands and utilizes economic, financial, and industrial data to accurately diagnose business strengths and weaknesses, identifying key issues, and developing strategies and plans.
  • Cultural awareness - Demonstrates an understanding of and effective adaptation to varying interpersonal styles and norms across cultures; takes actions to minimize the stresses of cross-cultural experiences and using them as opportunities for growth.
  • Communicates confidently and persuasively with a clear sense of audience and appropriate tone.
