The Opportunity -

In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.

BDA is looking for a Corrosion Program Lead who will join the AH-64E Apache team.  In this embedded role you will be accountable for Sustainment Engineering services from a System Engineering standpoint and report to the CoA for day-to day taskings.

This role is based at Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera.

As a Corrosion Program Lead within BDA, you will

• Manage the A64 Apache Corrosion Prevention and Control Program (CPCP).
• Identify and manage Environmental Degradation of the Apache fleet.
• Maintain the Apache CPCP Plan.
• Work with corrosion and platform subject matter experts to critically review the current corrosion prevention activities.
• Propose changes to the CPCP, Aircraft Maintenance Program, rectification of production issues and/or introduction of design changes to improve corrosion prevention.
• Support development of remediation actions to existing corrosion issues.
• Support System Safety Risk Assessments in support CPCP outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with key AHSPO staff including Data Specialist, Reliability Program lead, Structural Integrity Program leads, and Sustainment Engineering Team.
• Work collaboratively with other AASB SPO environmental degradation program leads to standardise approaches where appropriate.
• Conduct engineering investigations and assessments within the AASB Engineering Management System (EMS) in support of the CPCP.
• Collaborate with CPCP stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Other tasks as directed by the Deputy Chief Engineer.

About you -

To be successful in this role you will have:

• AQF 4 - Cert IV in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or equivalent
• Experience with managing the environmental degradation of aircraft and/or helicopters.
• Experience in leading and managing a technical project or activity.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to engage with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Desirable:

• Formal training in corrosion

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.

This role will commence in Oct 2026 with a 12 month contract.
