Boeing Defense, Space and Security is seeking an Associate or Experienced Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN & C) Engineer to provide support several programs in El Segundo, California.  Activities include the development of validation of operational procedures and mission systems engineering work for satellite operations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining code

  • Designing Procedures to operate the vehicle in orbit

  • Validating Software Procedures against Vehicle Simulator

  • Initializing Vehicle In-Orbit  

  • Providing Customer support On-Orbit

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an active SSBI (Single Scope Background Investigation) U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.

  • Space engineering experience within the industry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Software Coding languages (XML, Tcl/TK)

  • Understanding of System Engineering, focusing on Attitude Control Systems

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

  • Exposure to software qualification/certification in accordance with any of the following(Verification/ Validation / Readiness

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Associate Level 2: typically, 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • Experienced Level 3: typically, 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
