The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Reliability and Maintainability Engineer to join our Reliability & Maintainability (R & M) Engineering organization located in Everett, WA.

The selected candidate will help design, certify & support commercial airplanes by applying state-of-art reliability and maintainability engineering design, modeling and analysis principles. R & M Engineering is a key functional discipline that supports the airplane development for optimal performance, lifecycle economics & compliance to safety and airworthiness requirements.

Position Responsibilities:                                                     

• Use modeling, simulation and data analytics methodologies & tools including statistical and probabilistic analyses.
• Serve as a technical specialist supporting other functional design groups during all stages of the airplane product development and support lifecycle.
• Responsible for aiding in determining program technical performance measures (TPMs) such as schedule reliability, airplane operational availability & maintenance cost.

• Design for Reliability & Safety (airplane and system design reliability requirements validation & verification, reliability requirements allocation to suppliers, failure modes, rates, effects, propagation and detection analysis, architecture & operational provisions, safety & certification analysis, certification support, reliability & durability testing),
• Design for Maintainability (airplane and system design maintainability requirements validation & verification, task time analysis, maintainability evaluation of design using digital maintainability tools including virtual and augmented reality tools), requirements for and assessment of airplane technical performance measures (TPMs) such as schedule reliability, airplane operational availability & maintenance costs, TPM guarantee analysis.
• Interaction with airplane system suppliers, business partners, airline customers, airplane development program leaders, and functional management is typical, as is a high level of communication between the rest of the R & M Engineering internal organization, program teams, and functional design areas. Team involvement and individual effort, problem solving, and managing multiple actions and assignments will be regular duties for an R & M engineer.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Reliability engineering experience.
• Experience utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range Mid-Level $104,550 - $141,450
