Boeing Global Enterprise Services (BGES) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Operations Specialist at Boeing Japan KK (BJKK) in Tokyo.

Join us as a member of BGES team in Japan, one of Boeing’s top global markets. BJKK’s business activities include: sales and services for commercial airplanes and defense products, heavy industries supply chain management, advanced technology R & D, and airplane structure delivery operations.

You will have opportunities to learn and grow as your statement of work and Boeing’s global matrix organization provide engagement opportunities with colleagues in Japan, East Asia (i.e., China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan), and other countries. You will have regular visibility among BJKK leaders and business partners.

In this role, you will be responsible for project management, partner/stakeholderengagement, general affairs, office operations, and safety compliance. In addition, you will support and serve as a right hand to the BGES Japan manager.

The Business Operations Specialist reports directly to the BGES Japan manager in Tokyo.

Position Responsibilities:

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and deliver projects related to corporate business processes as defined.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for Kaizen and process improvement, plan and execute initiatives, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Plan and oversee general affairs, and safety compliance at the Tokyo office, while providing support to the Nagoya office and other Boeing Japan sites, ensuring safe, secure, and compliant operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of regular reports for the Japan BGES manager. (includes some preparation of PowerPoint presentation slides to management audience)
  • Mentor BGES staff in Tokyo and Nagoya on best practices.
  • Anticipate and address the enterprise service needs of BJKK business partners.
  • Undertake additional deliverables and projects as assigned by the BGES manager.

             

The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at BJKK’s Tokyo office (with some flex allowed at the BGES manager’s discretion).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Proven experience working in a Western multinational corporation within an English-speaking environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing new project initiatives or driving continuous improvement efforts.
  • Native-level proficiency in written and verbal communication in Japanese, along with business-level proficiency in written and verbal communication in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Bachelors degree or higher.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum 5 years or more relevant experience, including project management or project engagement.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Japanese government regulatory requirements, as well as processes that influence business operations in Japan.
  • Team lead experiences/mindset and ability to influence others (in English and Japanese) to work together towards shared goals.
  • Experience of building/maintaining trusted working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Critical thinking and business acumen skills.
