Boeing Brazil is seeking a Integrated Modular Avionics Manager, reporting to the Airplane Systems Senior Management team. This role will support the teams at the Sao Jose Dos Campos, Brazil location. 

The Integrated Modular Avionics Manager will lead engineering teams responsible for designing, building, testing, and certifying the computing and network platform of the 787, 777-9 and future airplanes. These critical roles will lead engineering teams developing the hardware and software for these systems, configuring the networks, integrating across numerous airplane systems.

The position includes responsibility for developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures, setting operational goals for the team, and acquiring financial and technical resources. This role includes mentoring, developing, and motivating direct reports.

Candidates applying for this position should be comfortable providing technical and project management of both Boeing employees and suppliers, as well as leading process improvement activities and utilizing cutting-edge methods for managing team workload and resources. The ability to develop and maintain positive and healthy relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports is a key attribute to being successful in this role.


Position Responsibilities:

•    Manage a team of Engineers in the development, validation, verification, integration and certification of Integrated Modular Avionics Systems.
•    Be responsible for overall planning, execution, and success of complex projects.
•    Partner closely with suppliers to establish project plans and manage team execution.
•    Maintain resource and skill forecasts to meet project and daily operating requirements.
•    Continuously develop and improve the Integrated Modular Avionics Function.
•    Manages employees performing engineering and technical tasks in the areas of the BCA Airplane Systems engineering. 
•    Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals.
•    Coordinates engagement with BCA engineering counterparts located at USA sites: Charleston, Puget Sound, and Long Beach.
•    Acquires resources for projects and processes, including budget and staffing.
•    Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
•    Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
•    Provides oversight and approval of approaches to compliance with regulatory requirements and certification processes.
•    Leads and fosters process improvements.
•    Develops and maintains a culture of seeking to understand, courage to speak up, active listening and servant leadership to manage, develop, and motivate employees.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

•    Must be legally able to work in Brazil
•    Fluent in both written and verbal English
•    Must have a Bachelor Degree in Engineering
•    Knowledge and experience of Electrical engineering
•    Experience in management or leadership role


Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):


•    Experience in the development, integration, and verification of electrical systems
•    Master’s Degree in an engineering related field or Business Administration (MBA)
•    Experience with Agile project management methods
•    Experience in requirements management and system safety assessment/functional hazard assessment methodology
•    Experience working in the aviation industry
•    Experience with Model-Based Engineering (MBE) / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods
