Boeing Training Solutions is a passionate aviation inspired team that enables world class flight crew training products for global customers. This engineering internship will be embedded at Boeing’s Gatwick Training Campus with the Simulator Engineering team, who are responsible for engineering of Boeing commercial Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTDs). This role will include FSTD special projects ranging from developing aircraft simulation software models, troubleshooting FSTD technical issues, completing FSTD hardware and software updates, performing verification and validation of simulator software changes, and supporting the qualification and regulatory activities. Work will require strong collaboration skills to connect with stakeholders from internal Boeing engineering teams, FSTD suppliers, flight training instructors, pilots, customers, and regulators. This role will be expected to support ad-hoc night shift work aligned to the availability of FSTD schedules and project requirements.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Investigate and resolve write ups from training crews either by investigating aircraft data to see if the write up matches real world operation or making changes to the devices software to rectify the issue.
  • Work with suppliers to deploy and accept new software loads.
  • Creation and maintenance of lesson plans used to ensure every training session is delivered in a consistent manner.
  • Working closely with global simulator operations teams to keep the Boeing simulator fleet operating seamlessly to train customers 24/7.
  • Simulator regulatory qualification and evaluation support.
  • Working with the SimBinary team to integrate new aircraft features into our delivered products.

Required Skills:

  • Strong interest in aviation
  • Working towards Engineering or Software degree
  • Experience with C/C++ software programming languages

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with aerospace engineering or avionics
  • Simulation and modeling Experience
  • Private pilot experience/interest
