This positionlocation is listedas ourCorporate Headquarters. The qualified candidate ideally would bebased in Dallas however could also work from one of our other offices in Texas Oklahoma Colorado or Virginia.

About this opportunity: Were looking for a self-motivated design professional experienced in airfield design and development of preliminary and final design plans specifications and estimates including runway taxiway apron roadway and utility projects on commercial service airports.
The Aviation Civil Engineer will be responsible for the following:
o Leading and mentoring junior aviation staff in the development of airport design plans specifications estimates reports and construction schedules
o Preparing and monitoring project budgets and schedules for smaller less complex projects or portions of larger projects. Has overall responsibility for the profitability and timely completion of projects or portions of larger projects or portions of projects in discipline
Serving as a deputy project manager or project engineer and one of several designated client contacts
Assisting in monitoring client relationship strategies
Coordinating pricing estimating scoping and marketing strategies for proposed projects
Preparing or assisting in preparing forecast of workload for assigned staff
Developing probable construction cost estimates for projects within the department
Attending client meetings
Controlling work-in-process assisting project manager to ensure accurate client billings
Analyzing reports maps drawings blueprints tests and aerial photographs on soil composition terrain hydrological characteristics and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects
Visiting construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents and/or serves as onsite project representative
Using computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
Responsible for assigned project manager or project engineer and/or project team quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.
Qualified candidates will:
o Possess an active Texas professional engineering license or be able to obtain a Texas professional engineering license within 6 months from date of hire
o Possess 7 years of prior experience in airfield civil engineering design
o Demonstrate a firm understanding of airport design principles as well as a working knowledge of airport safety principles and methodology
o Demonstrate experience in various aspects of airfield design including runway taxiway and apron geometry pavement thickness grading and drainage and marking
o Demonstrate effective communication both verbal and written
o Demonstrate current experience with and knowledge of FAA policies and procedures
o Demonstrate working knowledge of and experience using AutoCAD/Civil3D
The ideal candidate will:
o Possess active professional engineering licenses in Texas and be eligible for reciprocity in other states
o Possess 7-10 years of prior experience in airfield civil engineering design
o Demonstrate experience in both airside and landside design including roadways and utilities
o Demonstrate working knowledge of and experience using both AutoCAD/Civil3D and Microstation/Geopak
