OverviewThe Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all aerospace components and systems meet strict quality standards and regulatory requirements. The QA Inspector Metrology II provides services of measuring assessing identifying and addressing issues when it comes to parts assemblies and tooling. This role involves inspecting testing and verifying products to ensure compliance with engineering type design industry standards safety regulations and customer specifications. This individual is responsible for ensuring timely execution and reporting of inspection results to include documentation of deviations from the intended design. The qualified applicant will need to demonstrate attention to detail thoroughness with tasks unwavering integrity sound judgment and a cooperative attitude throughout the inspection process.ResponsibilitiesProficient with QA Metrology responsibilities plusReads interprets and inspects to drawings procedures and process specifications that govern manufacturing processes.Measures tooling parts and assemblies using CMM equipment or otherwise.Maintains detailed records of inspection results non-conformances and corrective actions. Prepare reports and communicate findings to management and engineering teams.Interprets the output of such measurements in comparison to the design drawings for quality reviewing areas of non-compliance to print.Operates multiple pieces of metrology equipment including CMMs vision systems etc.Programs measurement equipment using inspection software such as PolyWorks PC-DMIS etc.Develops maintains and generates CMM programs used to inspect and verify production materials and components.Provides mentorship to other metrology inspectors and aids with programming and operating.Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality manufacturing processes and safety standards.Analyzes finished aircraft assembly bonds parts or components to determine acceptance or rejection based on drawings specs and procedures.Identifies documents and reports any non-conformance issues or defects and work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.Performs other duties as assigned by the Team Lead Department Supervisor Line Manager or appropriate designee.Flexible with job functions and the ability multi-task.Performs receiving inspection duties as needed.QualificationsGED/HS DiplomaA&P License or AAS in Quality Assurance or a related field preferredCertifications such as ASNT ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar quality certifications are a plus.Familiarity with aerospace standards (e.g. AS9100 NADCAP FAA regulations) and tools (e.g. micrometers calipers CMMs).2 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within the aerospace industry preferably in manufacturing or assembly environments within the metrology role.Trained in ANSI/ASME ISO and GD&T methodologyStrong understanding of aerospace materials processes and testing methods.Proficiency in reading engineering drawings blueprints and technical documentation.Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and inspection softwareDemonstrates sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).Manages stress including competing work demands and multiple projects at the same time.Ability to read write and speak the English language.High attention to detail and accuracy; Ability to identify troubleshoot and determine root cause of problems.Proficient in Microsoft office and computer usage/application. CAD software skills desired – skills in Creo preferred.
