<h5>Airport Security ID Technician </h5><p>Under general supervision the Airport Security ID Technician performs a wide variety of specialized tasks in support of federally regulated aviation security operations and programs; serves as the primary point of contact for employers and employees acquiring San Francisco International Airport (SFO) ID badges and keys; processes airport badge and security key requests including new issues renewals and return of inactive ID badges and security keys; collects fees and fines; ensures compliance with Airport Security Program (ASP) local and federal regulations and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) directives and performs related duties as required. </p><p>The essential functions of this classification include but are not limited to the following: </p><ol> <li>Verify proper identification of an applicant to ensure identity is authentic. </li><li>Respond to telephone and email requests and in-person customer inquiries in a timely manner. </li><li>Use a variety of office equipment as required. </li><li>Verify security background check clearances per TSA Security Directives. </li><li>Scan documents into Airport Identity Management System (AIDMS) for airport badges. </li><li>Utilize access control systems to enroll applicants biometrics for access dual authentication. </li><li>Review and process SFO badge applications for compliance with Transportation Security Administrations (TSA) 1542 regulations. </li><li>Validate data entry of applicants information made by the signatories in AIDMS Badging System and/or fingerprinting database. </li><li>Verify security training information. </li><li>Process new renewal terminated lost and damaged badges and security keys efficiently and correctly into the Airport Identity Management System (AIDMS) as directed by the 49 CFR Part 1542 regulations. </li><li>Perform fingerprint duties on all airport employees tenants vendors and/or students applying for an airport ID badge. </li><li>Transmit data to Designated Aviation Channeling (DAC) Services on all airport ID badge applicants. </li><li>Receive and process payments of fees and fines such as fingerprinting fees Airport ID badge fees vehicle permit fees and citation fines by using appropriate equipment and/or software. </li><li>Maintain Airport Identity Management System (AIDMS) database. </li><li>Notify employees on Criminal History (CHRC) and Security Threat Assessment (STA). </li><li>Troubleshoot access control errors for airport badge holders. </li><li>Verify and follow up on CHRC fingerprint results. </li><li>Maintain and prepare reports on daily fingerprint statistical data. </li><li>Perform annual Transportation Security Administration mandated audits. </li><li>Proctor and monitor daily scheduled Computer Based Training (CBT) class sessions. </li><li>Assist in setting up new companies in the security database. </li><li>Assist in administering the Security Key Control Program. </li><li>Provide customer service and effective working relationships in person by telephone and/or email regarding information pertaining to Security Access Office operations to a diverse population of customers and staff. </li><li>Resolve complex customer complaints and issues related to airport badges access and payments in a timely manner. </li><li>Perform other functions outlined in the 9234 Airport Security ID Technician. </li></ol> <h5>Qualifications </h5><ol> <li><strong>Education:</strong> High school diploma or equivalent (GED or High School Proficiency Examination) AND </li><li><strong>Experience:</strong> Two (2) years of progressively responsible clerical experience working in a high volume public contact office environment. </li></ol> <p><strong>Experience Substitution:</strong> A recognized clerical training program of 240 hours of the equivalent of 15 semester units in graded clerical college units may substitute for up to 6 months of experience. </p><p>One-year full-time employment is equivalent to 2000 hours (2000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week). Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine full time employment. </p><p>Applicants must meet the minimum qualification by the final filing date unless otherwise noted. </p><p><strong>Desirable Qualifications:</strong> The stated desirable qualifications may be considered at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring. </p><ul> <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Excellent customer service skills. </li><li>One (1) year of experience in a security licensing or credentialing office. </li><li>Three (3) years of clerical experience working in a high-volume public contact office environment. </li><li>Working knowledge of CFR Part 1542. </li><li>Working knowledge of TSA and FAA rules and regulations. </li></ul> <p><strong>Verification of Education and Experience:</strong> </p><p>Every application is reviewed to ensure that you meet the minimum qualifications as listed in the job ad.
